If you're new to the area I will enjoy telling you about the community, schools, civic groups, and especially restaurants and shopping.
Wrightsville Beach, located on a five-mile long barrier island and considered by many as the finest beach in North Carolina, hosts a small community with an easy lifestyle that the locals call "coasting". Surrounded by water and protected by a drawbridge and excellent police force, the community enjoys considerably greater security than many other seaside communities. It is a "family beach" with many permanent residents, and loud outdoor music at very late hours is not tolerated. There are many fine restaurants and hotels on or near the beach. In keeping with the noncommercial ambiance of the community there are very few shops on the beach, but there are two shopping centers within three miles. For "sea salts" there are several marinas and a public six-lane boat ramp on the Intra-coastal Waterway on the West side of the beach. For "duffers" there are over twenty daily-fee golf courses in Wilmington and its surrounds.
Wilmington hosts a branch of the University of North Carolina, two community colleges, four high schools, and an excellent library with several branches. The Arts are well represented by an arts council, a museum, eleven theatre companies, and over twenty musical groups, including a symphony orchestra. Located on the Cape Fear river Wilmington boasts a lively "River Scene" with restaurants, shops, "steamboat tours", and venues for musicians.
With a salubrious climate, reasonable taxes and living costs, wide beaches, and a historic river city, the Cape Fear region offers the best in coastal living.

A quality custom-built house.
Construction began in 1992 and was completed in 1993.
Please notice that all windows are trimmed out with 2x6 lumber instead of the
usual 1x4, for a richer appearance. All window trim, decking, railings, and
steps have been beveled, for safety and a finer appearance. With the exception
of the entry door, which is somewhat protected, all exterior doors each have
four latches enabling them to withstand a 200 mph wind load.
